Fellowship Training on Accidents and Audits in Radiotherapy with an emphasis on Peer Review (Internal Auditing) in Medical Physics

23 - 27 March 2015

Purpose of the course

The purpose of the fellowship training is to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skill to identify and manage risk in radiotherapy medical physics; handle the documentation, reporting and reviewing of accidents and near-incidents; develop procedures based on lessons learned; and perform regular internal peer review and auditing of their own radiotherapy medical physics practices. The training is also pertinent to regulatory body staffs that have responsibilities for the control of radiation therapy medical exposure in their country.

Nature of the course

The fellowship training consists of lectures, discussions and practical sessions. Examples of internal and external audits of radiotherapy medical physics programs will be discussed.
